  • 16+ years in Rank: $41.81

Promotions

Law Enforcement Officers

A Law Enforcement Officer I is eligible to promote to Law Enforcement Officer II after 5 years of experience, and upon completion of specified advanced training, receives an accompanying salary increase.

A Law Enforcement Officer I that transfers 3 previous law enforcement years of service in the state of Kansas is eligible to promote to Law Enforcement Officer II after 2 years’ experience with Troop K, and upon the completion of specified advanced training will receive an accompanying salary increase. Law Enforcement Officer III is a front-line supervisory position and requires a minimum of 5 years Troop K experience, and experience as a Law Enforcement Officer I and II.

Capitol Area Guards

Capitol Area Guards I is eligible for promotion to Capitol Area Guard II and will receive an accompanying salary increase. A Capitol Area Guard I is required to have a minimum of 6 months of experience to be eligible for Capitol Area Guard II.

Communication Specialists

Communication Specialist I is eligible for promotion to Communication Specialist II after 2 years of service and will receive an accompanying salary increase. With additional years of service, promotions may become available for promotion to Communications Specialist Supervisor.
