Special Services manages several of the Patrol's unique operations, one of which is the Kansas Turnpike, Troop G. The KTA (Kansas Turnpike Authority) encompasses 11 counties, in the central and northeastern portions of Kansas. Troop G is unique in that its assigned personnel are solely responsible for the Turnpike itself and patrol no other state highways. The KTA is additionally unique because it is contained within five of the Patrol's regular field troops. The KTA traverses through Troops A, B, C, F, and H.
