Troop I contains the Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program (MCSAP), Criminal Interdiction, and the Critical Highway Accident Response Team (CHART). MCSAP troopers inspect commercial vehicles and drivers to decrease potential fatalities, injuries, and property damage. The Criminal Interdiction section works with troopers on criminal cases, the Drug Enforcement Administration to disrupt illegal drug trafficking, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation to investigate terrorist organizations. CHART investigates and reconstructs serious commercial vehicle accidents.
