In the middle of the shoulder patch is a farmer working in a field. This represents the rich agricultural history of the state. A covered wagon and buffalo can also be seen. They represent the days when Kansas was open prairie land roamed by wild game and used as a route for settlers traveling to California, Arizona and other locations.
