Keener Promoted to Lieutenant
Colonel William Seck, Superintendent of the Kansas Highway Patrol, has announced that Trooper Robert G. Keener was promoted to technical trooper on March 13, 2005. Keener recently transferred to Salina and now serves as a team leader for the Patrol’s Special Response Team (SRT).
Joining the Patrol as a trooper in September of 1999, Keener was first stationed in Ellsworth, assuming road patrol duties. In 2001, he transferred to Wichita. Keener has been a member of SRT since 2001.
Between 1996 and 2002, Keener was a member of the United States Marine Corps. For two years (2003-2005), he was a member of the Kansas Army National Guard serving as a second lieutenant and aviation officer. He graduated from Derby High School in Derby, Kansas. He attended Hutchinson Community College studying education and received his associates degree in education from Butler County Community College.
