Rice County Receives New Trooper

Colonel William Seck, Superintendent of the Kansas Highway Patrol, has assigned Trooper Michael L. Farmer to Rice County. Trooper Farmer received the assignment following his recent completion of an extensive 22-week basic law enforcement course at the Patrol’s Training Academy in Salina.

Trooper Farmer graduated from Larned High School in Larned, Kansas. Prior to joining the Patrol, he was an equipment operator in Larned with the Kansas Department of Transportation between 1996 and 2005.

Trooper Farmer has begun his field duties under the supervision of Master Trooper Michael Hutchison. Upon completion of field training, Trooper Farmer will assume patrol duties in Rice County.
