Johnson and Wyandotte Counties Receive New Trooper

Colonel William Seck, Superintendent of the Kansas Highway Patrol, has assigned Trooper Jacody R. Helton to Johnson and Wyandotte counties. Trooper Helton received the assignment following his recent completion of an extensive 22-week basic law enforcement course at the Patrol’s Training Academy in Salina.

Trooper Helton graduated from Altoona-Midway High School in Buffalo, Kansas. He attended Pittsburg State University for two years, receiving a certification of completion in electrical technology. Prior to joining the Patrol, he was an electrician with Noah Electric in Altoona, Kansas between 1995 and 2004. He has served on the Altoona City Council and was a reserve deputy for the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office.

Trooper Helton has begun his field duties under the supervision of Trooper Greg Peters. Upon completion of field training, Trooper Helton will assume patrol duties in Johnson and Wyandotte counties.
