Thomas County Receives New Trooper
Colonel William Seck, Superintendent of the Kansas Highway Patrol, has assigned Trooper Colby Markham to Thomas County. Trooper Markham received the assignment following his recent completion of an extensive 22-week basic law enforcement course at the Patrol’s Training Academy in Salina.
Trooper Markham graduated from Neodesha High School in Neodesha, Kansas. He served as a security guard in the United States Marine Corp from 1997 to 2001, last holding the rank of sergeant. Prior to joining the Patrol, he was a police officer for two years with the Fort Scott Police Department in Fort Scott, Kansas.
Trooper Markham has begun his field duties under the supervision of Trooper Andrew Schippers. Upon completion of field training, Trooper Markham will assume patrol duties in Thomas County.
