Ottawa County Receives New Trooper

Colonel William Seck, Superintendent of the Kansas Highway Patrol, has assigned Trooper Michael W. Saunders to Ottawa County. Trooper Saunders received the assignment following his recent completion of an extensive 22-week basic law enforcement course at the Patrol’s Training Academy in Salina.

Trooper Saunders graduated from Bonner Springs High School in Bonner Springs, Kansas. He has attended Kansas City Kansas Community College and Johnson County Community College, studying law enforcement. He served as a police officer with Gardner Public Safety in Gardner, Kansas.

Trooper Saunders has begun his field duties under the supervision of Master Trooper Mitchell Matthews. Upon completion of field training, Trooper Saunders will assume patrol duties in Ottawa County.
