Zeller Promoted to Captain
Colonel William Seck, Superintendent of the Kansas Highway Patrol, has announced that Lieutenant Steven A. Zeller was promoted to Captain on July 31, 2005. He assumed command duties of Troop B field operations in northeast Kansas.
Zeller joined the Patrol as a trooper in June of 1986, first stationed in Kansas City. In 1997, he was promoted to master trooper. Since 1999, he served turnpike motorists as lieutenant.
While a member of the Patrol, Zeller has been a recruit class coach for class #29 in 1995, a field training officer and a cadet law counselor. He was a member of the DEA Task Force in 1998, and currently, he is a drug recognition expert.
Prior to joining the Patrol, Zeller was a supervisor with the United Parcel Service in Lenexa. Currently, he is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Sunflower Soccer Association. He is also a parent coach in the Topeka Select Soccer Club.
Zeller graduated from Mission Valley High School in Eskridge and received his bachelors degree in history from Washburn University.
