Child Passenger Training Seats Donated to Patrol

News conference, photo opportunities to follow

The Kansas Highway Patrol will accept seven new child passenger safety training seats on Monday, November 14, at AAA Kansas’ new office at 1223 S.W. Wanamaker Rd., Suite 100, in Topeka. These vehicle seats utilize various types of seat belt systems and demonstrate how to use those seat belt systems to properly install child safety seats and booster seats.

Colonel William Seck, Superintendent of the Patrol, will speak briefly at a news conference scheduled for 10:00 a.m., November 14 outside the AAA building. He will be accompanied by Pete Bodyk, Chief of the Bureau of Traffic Safety at the Kansas Department of Transportation, and James Hanni, AAA Executive Vice President, Kansas Region. Colonel Seck will speak about the importance of child passenger safety and enforcement of child passenger laws in Kansas.

There will be great photo opportunities as children will join troopers in conducting training demonstrations on how to properly install child passenger safety seats and booster seats.
