Johnson Promoted To Technical Trooper

Colonel William Seck, Superintendent of the Kansas Highway Patrol, has announced that Trooper Brett C. Johnson was promoted to technical trooper on September 25, 2005. In this role, Technical Trooper Johnson now serves as an aircraft pilot assigned to the Patrol's Troop T or aircraft operations.

Johnson joined the Patrol on July 10, 2000, as a trooper performing road patrol duties in the Olathe area. In February 2004, he transferred to Topeka where he continued his field duties until his recent promotion.

As a member of the Patrol, Johnson has served on the Critical Highway Accident Response Team in Troops A and B in northeast Kansas. He also has been a traffic stops instructor at the Patrol’s Training Academy, and a field training officer for two recruit troopers.

Johnson is a graduate of Washburn Rural High School and received his bachelor’s degree from Washburn University in criminal justice. He was an investigator for the Kansas Attorney General’s Office before joining the Patrol.
