Hudson Promoted to Lieutenant
Colonel William Seck, Superintendent of the Kansas Highway Patrol, has announced that Trooper Keith D. Hudson was promoted to lieutenant and assigned as a zone supervisor in the Ottawa and Lawrence areas. Hudson received his promotion on Oct. 23, 2005.
Hudson joined the Patrol on March 17, 1996 as a trooper performing road patrol duties in the Ottawa area. He was promoted to master trooper on June 6, 2003 and continued to work as a road trooper until his recent promotion. As a member of the Patrol, Hudson has been a recruit class coach, field training officer and radar instructor.
During the 14 th annual program, volunteering members of the PMCA of Kansas gave 103 coupons for free tanks of fuel. The donation provided more than 1,500 gallons of gas. At approximately $1.63 per gallon (last year's cost), their contributions may have added up to as much as $2,445 in savings to the State of Kansas. By assisting the Patrol, the PMCA of Kansas is providing travelers with services at a lesser expense to Kansas taxpayers. For instance, during the Christmas and New Year's holiday reporting periods alone, officers in the Patrol made 107 impaired driving arrests, issued 680 occupant protection citations and warnings, and assisted 2,255 motorists.
Hudson is a graduate of Smoky Valley High School in Lindsborg, Kan. He has an associate's degree in criminal justice from Hutchinson Community College, and a bachelor's degree in criminology from Kansas State University. Prior to joining the Patrol, Hudson was deputy sheriff for the Johnson County Sheriff's Office.
