Johnson and Wyandotte Counties Receive New Trooper

Colonel William Seck, Superintendent of the Kansas Highway Patrol, has assigned Trooper Adam S. Hankins to Johnson and Wyandotte counties. Trooper Hankins received the assignment following his recent completion of an extensive 22-week basic law enforcement course at the Patrol's Training Academy in Salina.

Trooper Hankins is a graduate of Arkansas City High School. He has an associate's degree in criminal justice from Cowley County Community College, and he studied criminology at Kansas State University. Trooper Hankins served in the U.S. Army from 1997 to 2001 with his last rank as a sergeant in infantry. He was a deputy for the Johnson County Sheriff's Office in the detention center and worked as a police officer for the city of Shawnee before joining the Patrol.

Trooper Hankins has begun his field duties under the supervision of Trooper Ryan Kufahl. Upon completion of field training, he will assume patrol duties in Johnson and Wyandotte counties.
