Master Trooper Stohr Retires From the Patrol

Colonel William Seck, Superintendent of the Kansas Highway Patrol, has announced that Master Trooper Thomas E. Stohr has retired from the Patrol, after serving the citizens of Kansas for 27 years. Stohr retired on Dec. 17, 2005.

Stohr joined the Patrol on June 18, 1978 as a trooper performing road patrol duties in the Manhattan area. In September 1988, he transferred to patrol the Kansas Turnpike in the Wichita area. Stohr was promoted to Master Trooper in 1992 and continued his duties patrolling the Turnpike near Wichita. As a member of the Patrol, Stohr was a troop representative and troop director for the Kansas State Troopers Association.

Stohr is a graduate of Hutchinson High School in Hutchinson, Kan. He has an associate's degree in biology from Hutchinson Community College and studied biology at Kansas State University. Prior to joining the Patrol, Stohr was a patrolman at Kansas State University.
