MacEwan Promoted to Lieutenant

Colonel William Seck, Superintendent of the Kansas Highway Patrol, has announced that Trooper Josh D. MacEwan was promoted to lieutenant on March 26, 2006. As a lieutenant, MacEwan has been assigned to the Governor’s Protective Services detail.

MacEwan joined the Patrol on July 10, 2000 and was assigned road patrol duties in the Topeka area. As a member of the Patrol, MacEwan has been a child safety seat technician since 2001 and a member of the Capital City Major Case Squad since 2002. He also has been an aircraft observer, a forensic mapper for the Patrol’s Critical Highway Accident Reconstruction Team (CHART) and a field training officer.

MacEwan is a graduate of Goffstown High School, in Goffstown, N.H. He served in the U.S. Army from 1993 to 1996 as an armor crewman, most recently holding the rank of corporal. Prior to joining the Patrol, MacEwan was a corrections corporal and reserve deputy with the McPherson County Sheriff’s Department. While employed in McPherson, he was a member of the Special Operations Team.
