Colonel William Seck, Superintendent of the Kansas Highway Patrol, has assigned Trooper Matthew Rumsey to Johnson and Wyandotte counties. Trooper Rumsey received the assignment following his recent completion of an extensive 22-week basic law enforcement course at the Patrol’s Training Academy in Salina.

Trooper Rumsey graduated from East High School in Wichita, Kan., and has a bachelor’s degree in general studies with an emphasis in human development/crime and delinquency from the University of Kansas. Prior to joining the Patrol, Rumsey was an officer with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department.
