Finney County Receives New Trooper
Colonel William Seck, Superintendent of the Kansas Highway Patrol, has assigned Trooper Reed Sperry to Finney County. Trooper Sperry received the assignment following his recent completion of an extensive 22-week basic law enforcement course at the Patrol’s Training Academy in Salina.
Trooper Sperry graduated from Andover High School in Andover, Kan., and has a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice/psychology from Northwestern Oklahoma State University. Prior to joining the Patrol, Sperry was a jailer/dispatcher in Alva, Okla., and then he became a police officer with the Alva Police Department. Sperry is certified by the Oklahoma Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training.
Trooper Sperry has begun his field duties under the supervision of Trooper Clayton Tarpley. Upon completion of field training, Trooper Sperry will assume patrol duties in Finney County.
