Buttler Promoted to Technical Trooper
Colonel William Seck, Superintendent of the Kansas Highway Patrol, has announced that Trooper Edna R. Buttler was promoted to technical trooper on July 9, 2006.
Buttler joined the Patrol on July 9, 2001, as a trooper performing road patrol duties in the Lawrence area. She transferred to the Patrol's general headquarters in Topeka in January of 2006 within the Support Services Section. With her recent promotion, she continues to serve the Support Services Section. She has been a child safety seat technician since 2003.
Prior to joining the Patrol, Buttler was property manager of the Osage Trails Apartments in Parsons, and she was a member of the U.S. Army Reserve between 1990 and 1998. Between 1995 and 1998, Buttler worked as a drill sergeant at the Labette Correctional Conservation Camp in Oswego. She served with the Army Military Police in Bosnia, Croatia and Hungary from 1997 to 1998.
Buttler attended Kofa High School in Yuma, Ariz., and is a graduate of Vista High School in Vista, Calif. She has two diplomas from the Military Police Academy as a military police officer and a rehabilitative training instructor.
