New Troopers to Receive Patrol Cars
The Kansas Highway Patrol’s 11 newest troopers will receive their patrol vehicles en masse Friday, September 22, at the Patrol’s fleet facility at 930 N.E. Strait Avenue in Topeka. Superintendent Colonel William Seck will speak briefly at a news conference scheduled for 11 a.m.
At the news conference, Colonel Seck will encourage the public to buckle up, and to drive safely and responsibly to reduce the number and severity of traffic crashes in Kansas. Colonel Seck also will comment on the importance of quality vehicles for law enforcement officers to ensure their safety and the public’s safety.
There will be great photo opportunities as the new troopers receive their vehicles, many with their field training officers. The news conference will take place inside the southwest door of the facility.
The new troopers graduated in June from the Patrol’s Training Academy in Salina after 22 weeks of rigorous training. Each trooper has completed field training with a veteran trooper and now will patrol Kansas’s roadways alone in their newly issued vehicle.
