Reno County Receives New Trooper

Trooper Nicholas Carter

Colonel William Seck, Superintendent of the Kansas Highway Patrol, has assigned Trooper Nicholas V. Carter to Reno County. Trooper Carter received the assignment following his recent completion of an extensive 22-week basic law enforcement course at the Patrol’s Training Academy in Salina.

Trooper Carter graduated from Winfield High School in Winfield, Kan. He has an associate’s degree in criminal justice from Cowley County Community College. Prior to joining the Patrol, Carter was a member of the Winfield Police Department for three years.

Trooper Carter has begun his field duties under the supervision of Trooper Grant Blaylock. Upon completion of field training, Trooper Carter will assume patrol duties in Reno County.
