Johnson and Wyandotte Counties Receive New Trooper

Trooper Candice Wilburn

Colonel William Seck, Superintendent of the Kansas Highway Patrol, has assigned Trooper Candice Wilburn to Johnson and Wyandotte counties. Trooper Wilburn received the assignment following her recent completion of an extensive 22-week basic law enforcement course at the Patrol's Training Academy in Salina.

Trooper Wilburn graduated from Lyndon High School in Lyndon, Kan. She has a general associate's degree from Cowley County Community College, and she studied psychology at the College of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina. Wilburn has a bachelor's of arts degree in psychology from the University of Missouri-Rolla. Wilburn was an All-Conference, All-Region and All-American pitcher while playing softball at Cowley County, and she was an All-Conference and All-Region performer while she played softball in Rolla.

Trooper Wilburn has begun her field duties under the supervision of Master Trooper Dave Morrison. Upon completion of field training, Trooper Wilburn will assume patrol duties in Johnson and Wyandotte counties.
