Parol Superintendent Releases Annual Report

Colonel William Seck, Superintendent of the Kansas Highway Patrol, released the agency's 2006 Annual Report yesterday. The report has been presented to Governor Kathleen Sebelius and the Kansas Legislature, and is available to the public online at http://www.kansashighwaypatrol.org/.
"The Kansas Highway Patrol vows to protect and serve the public through enforcement and education. The Annual Report is one of many tools our agency uses to educate the public about the functions of the Highway Patrol," said Patrol Superintendent Colonel William R. Seck. "It also describes how our agency strives to meet and exceed the expectations of Kansas citizens and the standards we set for ourselves as an agency."
The report describes the Patrol's organizational structure and responsibilities, and features statistics and significant events throughout 2006. The report is divided into sections that highlight the Patrol's seven field troops and specialty troops, including the Kansas Turnpike, the KHP Training Academy, Capitol Police, Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program, Protective Services, Communications, and Aircraft Operations. The report also features specialty units, such as the Motor Carrier Inspectors, Breath Alcohol Unit, Motor Vehicle Enforcement, Drug Recognition Experts, Special Response Team, Police Service Dog Unit, Public Resource Officers, the Fleet Management Program, Homeland Security, and Emergency Operations. The 2006 Annual Report details how the Patrol assists other state, local and federal agencies.
