Technical Trooper Hensley Retires from Patrol
Colonel William Seck, Superintendent of the Kansas Highway Patrol, has announced that Technical Trooper David A. Hensley has retired from the Patrol, after serving the citizens of Kansas for 25 years. Hensley retired on June 16, 2007.
Hensley joined the Patrol on June 18, 1982, and was assigned to road patrol duties in the Columbus area. He was promoted to master trooper in July 1993 and remained in Columbus. In 2000, Hensley transferred to the Highway Patrol's Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program (MCSAP). He later became a technical trooper in MCSAP and continued to serve in the Columbus area until his retirement. As a member of the Highway Patrol, Hensley was a member of the Critical Highway Accident Response Team (CHART). In 1984, he received a letter of commendation from Governor Carlin for achieving the third highest ranking of impaired driving arrests.
Hensley graduated from Wyandotte High School in Kansas City, Kan., and he studied administration of justice at Kansas City Kansas Community College and Barton County Community College. Hensley served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1975 to 1979, last holding the rank of corporal in Nuclear Weapons Security.
The Patrol wishes the best to David in his retirement!
