Farthing Promoted to Technical Trooper

Colonel William Seck, Superintendent of the Kansas Highway Patrol, has announced that Trooper Chris L. Farthing was promoted to technical trooper on June 17, 2007.

Farthing joined the Patrol in July 2001, and was assigned to road patrol duties in the Ellsworth area. As a member of the Patrol, Farthing is a certified child safety seat technician, and he served as a platoon leader for Cadet Law, which is a program for teenagers co-hosted by the Kansas Highway Patrol and the American Legion.

Prior to joining the Patrol, Farthing was an agricultural inspector with the Kansas Department of Agriculture from March 1998 to July 2001. He is a graduate of Ellinwood High School, in Ellinwood, Kansas, and is a member of the United Methodist Church of Kanopolis.
