Colonel William Seck, Superintendent of the Kansas Highway Patrol, has announced that Capitol Police Officer Linda L. Punchard-Neely retired from the Patrol on June 1, 2007, after serving the citizens of Kansas for 24 years.
Punchard-Neely joined the Patrol on December 5, 1983, as a Capitol Police Officer assigned to providing security and law enforcement services on state-owned and leased property in Shawnee County. She was promoted to sergeant in 1986 and was assigned to the Kansas Museum of History. In 2002, she returned to roving patrol duties. In 1994, Punchard-Neely assisted with developing a self defense class for women, as well as other courses such as safety, security, and stress management. She also was a member of the Peer Support Team, Major Case Squad, emergency medical technician, and first aid and CPR instructor.

The Patrol wishes Linda the best in her retirement!
