Sedgwick County Receives New Trooper

Colonel William Seck, Superintendent of the Kansas Highway Patrol, has assigned Trooper Richard A. Denmark to Sedgwick County. Trooper Denmark received the assignment following his recent completion of an extensive 22-week basic law enforcement course at the Patrol's Training Academy in Salina.
Trooper Denmark graduated from Western Harnett High School in Lillington, North Carolina. He served in the U.S. Army from April 2001 through April 2004, most recently holding the rank of E-4 specialist in the Infantry. As a member of the Army, Denmark attended Infantry Basic Training and Airborne School, both at Fort Benning, Georgia. He served in Kuwait six months in 2002 and was part of the initial invasion in Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003. Upon completion of his military service, Denmark worked for the Kansas Department of Corrections as a corrections specialist at the El Dorado Correctional Facility.
Trooper Denmark has begun his field duties under the supervision of Master Trooper Dave Hundley. Upon completion of field training, Trooper Denmark will assume patrol duties in Sedgwick County.
