Shawnee County Receives New Trooper

Trooper Cody Olson

Colonel William Seck, Superintendent of the Kansas Highway Patrol, has assigned Trooper Kody G. Olson to Shawnee County. Trooper Olson received the assignment following his recent completion of an extensive 22-week basic law enforcement course at the Patrol's Training Academy in Salina.

Trooper Olson graduated from Hiawatha High School in Hiawatha, Kan., and earned an associate’s of science from Highland Community College. He has served in the Kansas National Guard since 2005, most recently holding the rank of E-4 human resource specialist. Prior to joining the Patrol, Olson was a warehouse worker at Custom Ag Products in Fairview.

Trooper Olson has begun his field duties under the supervision of Master Trooper Mark Engholm. Upon completion of field training, Trooper Olson will assume patrol duties in Shawnee County.
