Johnson and Wyandotte Counties Receive New Trooper

Trooper Othello Thomas

Colonel William Seck, Superintendent of the Kansas Highway Patrol, has assigned Trooper Othello F. Thomas to Johnson and Wyandotte counties. Trooper Thomas received the assignment following his recent completion of an extensive 22-week basic law enforcement course at the Patrol's Training Academy in Salina.

Trooper Thomas graduated from Northampton High School in Eastville, Virginia. He served in the U.S. Army from 1985 through 2005, most recently holding the rank of sergeant first class in the Infantry. Prior to joining the Patrol, Thomas was a truck driver for Moore Dependable Trucking in Raytown, Missouri.

Trooper Thomas has begun his field duties under the supervision of Trooper James Gabbert. Upon completion of field training, Trooper Thomas will assume patrol duties in Johnson and Wyandotte counties.
