Sedgwick County Receives New Trooper

Trooper Stoney Thompson

Colonel William Seck, Superintendent of the Kansas Highway Patrol, has assigned Trooper Stoney L. Thompson to Sedgwick County. Trooper Thompson received the assignment following his recent completion of an extensive 22-week basic law enforcement course at the Patrol's Training Academy in Salina.

Trooper Thompson graduated from Newton High School in Newton, Kan., and he studied criminal justice at Highland Community College. Thompson has served in the U.S. Army since 1998, and most recently holds the rank of staff sergeant in carpentry and masonry.

Trooper Thompson has begun his field duties under the supervision of Master Trooper Andrew Lieber. Upon completion of field training, Trooper Thompson will assume patrol duties in Sedgwick County.
