Gove County Receives New Trooper

Trooper Rodd Thornburg

Colonel William Seck, Superintendent of the Kansas Highway Patrol, has assigned Trooper Rodd K. Thornburg to Gove County. Trooper Thornburg received the assignment following his recent completion of an extensive 22-week basic law enforcement course at the Patrol's Training Academy in Salina.

Trooper Thornburg graduated from Utica High School in Utica, Kan., and he earned an associate’s degree from Colby Community College and a bachelor's of arts in accounting from Fort Hays State University. Prior to joining the Patrol, Thornburg was a public works operator for the City of Las Animas, Colorado.

Trooper Thornburg has begun his field duties under the supervision of Master Trooper Travis Phillips. Upon completion of field training, Trooper Thornburg will assume patrol duties in Gove County.
