Johnson and Wyandotte Counties Receive New Trooper

Colonel William Seck, Superintendent of the Kansas Highway Patrol, has assigned Trooper Bryce I. Whelpley to Johnson and Wyandotte counties. Trooper Whelpley received the assignment following his recent completion of an extensive 22-week basic law enforcement course at the Patrol's Training Academy in Salina.
Trooper Whelpley graduated from Topeka High School in Topeka, Kan., and he studied criminal justice at Cloud County Community College and Allen County Community College. Prior to joining the Patrol, Whelpley was a customer service manager at Schwan’s Home Service in Topeka.
Trooper Whelpley has begun his field duties under the supervision of Trooper Robert Beabout. Upon completion of field training, Trooper Whelpley will assume patrol duties in Johnson and Wyandotte counties.
