Mills Promoted to Technical Trooper

Colonel William Seck, Superintendent of the Kansas Highway Patrol, has announced that Trooper Jason L. Mills was promoted to technical trooper on December 30, 2007.
Mills joined the Patrol in July 2001, and was assigned to road patrol duties in the Wichita area. In 2003, Mills transferred to Garnett. With his recent promotion to technical trooper, Mills has joined the Patrol's aircraft unit and will become a pilot. As a member of the Patrol, Mills was a coach for three trooper recruit classes in 2004 and 2005. He also has served as a defense tactics instructor since 2005. In September 2006, Mills received a Commander’s Commendation for assisting a local police officer by pulling the officer from a burning vehicle.
Mills is a graduate of Eureka High School in Eureka, Kansas. Prior to joining the Patrol, he worked for George Lay Signs in Wichita.
