Jackson County Receives New Trooper

Trooper Douglas Lehwald

Colonel William Seck, Superintendent of the Kansas Highway Patrol, has assigned Trooper Douglas W. Lehwald to Jackson County. Trooper Lehwald received the assignment following his completion of an extensive 22-week basic law enforcement course at the Patrol's Training Academy in Salina.

Trooper Lehwald graduated from Sabetha High School in Sabetha, Kan. His prior law enforcement experience includes patrol officer and assistant chief at the Sabetha Police Department and a road deputy, police service dog handler, undersheriff, and sergeant at the Nemaha County Sheriff’s Office.

Trooper Lehwald will begin his field duties under the supervision of Master Trooper Brian Horney. Upon completion of field training, Trooper Lehwald will assume patrol duties in Jackson County.
