Ladner Promoted to Lieutenant Colonel

Colonel Terry Maple, Superintendent of the Kansas Highway Patrol, has announced that Robert D. Ladner was promoted to lieutenant colonel and was assigned as assistant superintendent for the agency.
Ladner joined the Patrol on June 18, 1978, and was assigned to road patrol duties in the Kansas City area. He transferred to the Kansas Turnpike at Bonner Springs in January 1991. In 1992, Ladner was promoted to master trooper and continued his road patrol duties on the Turnpike. He was promoted to sergeant and transferred to the Governor's Security Detail in Topeka in 1995. In 1998, Ladner was promoted to second lieutenant and assigned to Troop B, northeast Kansas, as a field supervisor in the Topeka area. He was promoted to lieutenant in 2001 and was assigned as the unit commander for the Professional Standards Unit (PSU). Two years later, Ladner was promoted to captain of the PSU. As the assistant superintendent, Ladner will administer day-to-day operations of the Patrol, coordinate activities of administrative and field personnel, and act as a liaison with other government officials, law enforcement agencies, and the public. During his career with the Patrol, Ladner has been a field training officer for three troopers, a member of the Kansas City Metro Squad, radar instructor, and firearms instructor.
Ladner is a graduate of Topeka West High School in Topeka, Kan. He earned a bachelor's of arts in criminal justice and sociology from Washburn University, and he completed the certified public manager program through the University of Kansas Public Management Center.
Congratulations, Robert, on your promotion!
