Harrington Promoted to Lieutenant

Colonel Terry Maple, Superintendent of the Kansas Highway Patrol, has announced that Scott Harrington was promoted to lieutenant on March 23, 2008.
Harrington joined the Patrol on July 10, 2000, and was assigned to road patrol duties in Shawnee County. He was promoted to master trooper in 2007. As a lieutenant, Harrington has been assigned as a supervisor of the Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) unit in Topeka. As a member of the Patrol, Harrington was a recruit class coach for three recruit classes, a field training officer, a Training Academy instructor on traffic stops since 2003, and an East Region Roving Aggressive Violation Enforcement (RAVE) member since 2000 and RAVE coordinator since 2004. Harrington was presented with a Commander's Commendation in 2004 for his involvement with the Training Academy, a RAVE team coordinator, and the IDDP fund that provided extra enforcement on K-4.
Harrington is a graduate of Shawnee Heights High School in Tecumseh, Kan. He studied education at Emporia State University and criminal justice at the University of Kansas. Prior to becoming a trooper, Harrington was a civilian VIN inspector for the Kansas Highway Patrol. He also served the State of Kansas as an assistant state retail coordinator for the Kansas Lottery.
Congratulations, Scott, on your promotion!
