Marten Promoted to Captain

Captain Dennis Marten

Colonel Terry L. Maple, Superintendent of the Kansas Highway Patrol, has announced that Dennis E. Marten was promoted to Captain on April 20, 2008, and will oversee the Troop F, which includes 13 counties in south-central Kansas.

Marten joined the Patrol on June 18, 1989, as a trooper assigned to road patrol duties in the Wichita area. He was promoted to Lieutenant in 1998 and became a zone supervisor in Wichita. As a member of the Patrol, Marten was a field training officer in 1995 and 1996. He was the range master in Troop F between 1992 and 2008.

Marten is a graduate of Chanute High School in Chanute, Kansas, and he earned an associate's of arts in natural science from Wichita State University.
