Johnson and Wyandotte Counties Receive New Trooper

Colonel Terry Maple, Superintendent of the Kansas Highway Patrol, has assigned Trooper Christopher G. Beas to Johnson and Wyandotte counties. Trooper Beas received the assignment following his recent completion of an extensive 22-week basic law enforcement course at the Patrol's Training Academy in Salina.

Trooper Beas graduated from New Bloomfield High School in New Bloomfield, Mo., and he earned a bachelor's of science in criminal justice from the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Mo. Beas served in the Army National Guard from 1994 to 2001, most recently holding the rank of specialist as a mechanic.

Trooper Beas has begun his field duties under the supervision of Trooper Chris Bowling. Upon completion of field training, Trooper Beas will assume patrol duties in Wyandotte and Johnson counties.
