Sedgwick County Receives New Trooper

Trooper David Stivers

Colonel Terry Maple, Superintendent of the Kansas Highway Patrol, has assigned Trooper David L. Stivers to Sedgwick County. Trooper Stivers received the assignment following his recent completion of an extensive 22-week basic law enforcement course at the Patrol's Training Academy in Salina.

Trooper Stivers graduated from Hutchinson High School in Hutchinson, Kan., and he earned a bachelor's of science in criminal justice from Washburn University in Topeka, Kan. Prior to joining the Kansas Highway Patrol, Stivers was a trooper with the Colorado State Patrol, stationed in Frisco, Colo.

Trooper Stivers has begun his field duties under the supervision of Master Trooper Matt Mullen. Upon completion of field training, Trooper Stivers will assume patrol duties in Sedgwick County.
