Master Trooper Jamison Retires from Kansas Highway Patrol

Colonel Terry L. Maple, Superintendent of the Kansas Highway Patrol, has announced the retirement of Master Trooper Clayton Jamison. Master Trooper Jamison retired November 29, 2008, after serving the Patrol and citizens of Kansas for over 22 years.
Jamison began his career with the Patrol on June 18, 1986, as a Trooper I with patrol duties in Sedgwick County. In 1990, Jamison was promoted to Trooper II. Jamison was promoted to Master Trooper in 1993. In September 1996, Jamison moved from road patrol to a Court Liaison position with the Patrol in Sedgwick County, where he remained until his retirement.
While with the Patrol, Jamison was a member of the Patrol's Peer Support Team from 1990 to his retirement. He was also an instructor at the Patrol's Training Academy from 1995 to 2000, and a Field Training Officer in 1994.
Jamison is a graduate of Field Kindley High School, in Coffeyville, Kansas. He received an Associate of Arts degree from Coffeyville Community College, and went on to attend Emporia State University, where he received a Bachelor's of Science degree in Business. He also studied Psychology while at Emporia. Prior to joining the Patrol, Jamison was a clerk for ATSF Railway in Emporia. He served on the Valley Center, Kansas Library Board for eight years.
