Colonel Terry Maple, Superintendent of the Kansas Highway Patrol, has assigned Trooper Jonathan T. Eilert to Riley County. Trooper Eilert received the assignment following the completion of an extensive 22-week basic law enforcement course at the Patrol's Training Academy in Salina.

Trooper Eilert is a graduate of St. John's High School in Beloit, Kan. He also studied criminal justice at Fort Hays State University. Prior to joining the Patrol, Eilert was a member of the U.S. Navy from 2002 to 2006. His most recent ranking while in the Navy was E-5, with a specialty in Military Police and Anti-Terrorism.
