Thomas County Receives New Trooper

Colonel Terry Maple, Superintendent of the Kansas Highway Patrol, has assigned Trooper Cody L. Honas to Thomas County. Trooper Honas received the assignment following the completion of an extensive 22-week basic law enforcement course at the Patrol's Training Academy in Salina.

Trooper Honas graduated from Ellis High School in Ellis, Kan. He also attended Fort Hays State University, where he studied Biology. Prior to joining the Patrol, Honas worked for Stan Honas Masonry in Ellis, as a brick mason assistant.

Trooper Honas has begun his field training duties under the supervision of Master Trooper Andrew Schippers. Following completion of his field training duties, Trooper Honas will assume patrol duties in Thomas County.
