Patrol Releases 2008 Annual Report

Colonel Terry Maple, Superintendent of the Kansas Highway Patrol, released the agency's 2008 Annual Report today. The report includes statistical information, department descriptions, and highlights the agency's activities during the 2008 calendar year.

The Annual Report features the Patrol's service to others including citizens in the state, travelers on the roads, and other organizations, both in the public and private sectors. Thank you notes received by the agency are featured in the report. Change is also emphasized throughout the report, both in the lower number of fatalities on the state's roads, and within the organization itself.

"More disasters struck the state in 2008, and other important events occurred. Working together, law enforcement and other organizations throughout the state worked to assure Kansans received the best of the services we offer," Maple said. "As many organizations found their resources limited in 2008, the Patrol sought to provide the same Service, Courtesy, and Protection that we strive for everyday."

The annual report is available online at www.kansashighwaypatrol.org. In keeping with the Governor's directive on paper reduction, limited copies of the report were printed for historical and archival purposes.
