In honor of the ten KHP Troopers who selflessly gave their lives for a greater cause and to memorialize the portions of our State’s highways that are being dedicated to our fallen, a Memorial Ceremony and ten graveside services have been scheduled.
The Memorial Ceremony is set for Thursday, September 13th, 2018, at 11:00 AM, during the Kansas State Fair. The event will be held at The Lair White House located near the intersection of Fort Leavenworth Boulevard and Cottonwood Avenue on the State Fairgrounds. This ceremony will also help us to honor to the families of our fallen and will serve as an opening ceremony for the graveside services that will soon follow.
Uniform for the Memorial Ceremony will be Class C.
The first attachment contains information relating to the graveside and memorial services. Each event will be open to the public and media and it is expected that many family members will be present.
For those wishing to attend, please contact your immediate supervisor for approval. It is likely the KHP parking lot will be full, consequently you will need to find parking elsewhere. Tickets for admission onto the fairgrounds can be purchased at the gate. Discounted tickets can be purchased online at: : https://www.etix.com/ticket/v/12251/kansas-state-fair
