Troop F
Troop F consists of 13 counties in south-central Kansas, and its headquarters is in Kechi, near Wichita, the state’s largest city. Like Kansas City’s Troop A and Topeka’s Troop B, Troop F has Motorist Assistance Technicians to help stranded motorists, allowing troopers to focus more on traffic enforcement and criminal interdiction.
Every September, officers from Troop F and other parts of the state police the Kansas State Fair in Hutchinson. During the 10-day fair, they provide around-the-clock services to the 50,000 daily visitors, dealing with everything from carnival game complaints and disorderly conduct to vandalism, medical emergencies, and lost and found persons and property.
